Kristy

Director of Operations

Kristy joined the practice in February 2020 and serves as the Director of Operations. In this role, she works closely with the entire team to support the daily operations of the practice and help bring Dr. Smith’s vision to life. Kristy takes pride in being someone the team can rely on — guiding, supporting and helping them with anything they need to be successful in their roles.

She is a Certified Dental Coder (CDC) and Certified Dental Billing Specialist (CDBS) and has a strong passion for helping patients understand the financial and insurance aspects of orthodontic treatment. Because insurance can often be complex and confusing, Kristy enjoys helping patients navigate this part of their journey and making the process as clear and comfortable as possible.

Kristy’s favorite part of being part of the practice is building relationships with patients and their families. She loves hearing their stories, getting to know them throughout their orthodontic journey, and being someone they can turn to for guidance and support along the way.

Outside of the office, Kristy enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin, and their three children — Shane, Cameron and Savanna. Their home in the South Hills is always full of energy, especially with their two dogs, Penny and Louis. In her free time, Kristy enjoys crafting, tackling home improvement projects and fixing just about anything that’s broken. She also admits she can be a bit of a workaholic and truly enjoys staying busy and helping the practice continue to grow.

Kristy feels grateful to work alongside Dr. Smith and his wife, Lisanne, whom she considers part of her extended family.

With more than 25 years of experience in the dental field, she is a reliable source of support for her team and is known for her consistently upbeat personality that keeps the office positive, organized and welcoming. Brea takes pride in creating an environment where both patients and staff feel encouraged and supported every day — and she’s the kind of person whose smile can brighten any room.

As our Observation Treatment Coordinator, Brea plays a vital role in guiding younger patients and their families through the observation phase of treatment. She helps families understand the timing of care, answers questions, keeps visits organized, and ensures patients feel confident and connected to the office as they grow. Her attention to detail, encouraging approach and dedication to patient care make her an integral part of our practice, inspiring both her colleagues and the families she works with.

Elaine

Marketing Lead

Elaine has been an integral part of our team since 2017 and now serves as our Marketing Lead. She also continues to lend her expertise as a Treatment Coordinator whenever additional support is needed. In this role, Elaine leads the planning and coordination of marketing initiatives that support the continued growth of the practice. She focuses on strengthening relationships with the providers we partner with in caring for our patients, building new connections with providers in the area, staying connected within the communities we serve, and keeping our patients engaged with the practice.

Marketing takes creativity, strategy, and a great deal of planning, and Elaine enjoys bringing all of those elements together. She spends much of her time developing ideas, organizing initiatives, and ensuring the many moving parts of our marketing efforts align to support the continued growth of the practice.

One of Elaine’s favorite things about working here is the camaraderie among the staff. She truly considers the team her second family and enjoys being part of a group that works hard, laughs often, and supports one another.

Outside of the office, Elaine enjoys life on her small farm, where there is never a dull moment. She shares her home with three dogs, 14 hens, and a rooster named Hank who proudly keeps watch over the flock, and she’s looking forward to adding sheep to the mix soon. When she’s not tending to the animals, Elaine enjoys spending time with her family — especially her two daughters and her four energetic granddaughters, who keep life busy and fun.

Elaine enjoys playing a part in helping more families discover the positive orthodontic experience our team works hard to create every day.

In her role, Erika keeps the front desk running smoothly by making sure patients and families feel cared for both in the office and between visits. She also works to ensure Dr. Smith’s schedule allows the time needed to give each patient thoughtful attention. Erika assists patients and families in completing the financial paperwork at the start of treatment and is always available as a resource for both patients and team members—whether answering questions or offering guidance when someone needs support.

One of Erika’s favorite things about working here is being part of such a close-knit team. She loves the positive atmosphere in the office and the way everyone works together to create a welcoming experience for patients and their families.

Outside of the office, Erika stays busy supporting her teenage son, who wrestles and practices Jiu-Jitsu. She enjoys spending weekends cheering him on at his tournaments and being there for every match. When she’s not in the office or at a tournament, Erika enjoys shopping, relaxing with Hallmark movies, and watching documentaries!
